KS-19 oil (GOST 9243-75)

KS-19 oil (GOST 9243-75) is intended for lubrication of medium and high pressure piston compressors.

Depending on requirements set for the compressor oil, and the areas where it is going to be used, compressor oils are divided into different classes:

  • compressor oils intended for the lubrication of reciprocating and rotary compressors;
  • compressor oils designed to ensure the operability of turbomachinery;
  • compressor oils intended for lubrication of units and parts of refrigeration compressors.

Compressor oils, intended for reciprocating and rotary compressors, are in direct contact with gas during their operation. In reciprocating compressors, the compressor oil is primarily responsible for lubrication of cylinders and valves. In addition, the compressor oil serves to seal the compression components. There are two types of lubrication - combined, when industrial oils are used in addition to compressor oil. Compressor oils for piston and rotation compressors must be stable with respect to temperatures and oxidation, to the formation of coke deposits.

In refrigeration compressors, continuous contact between compressor oil and refrigerant is expected in conditions of constant temperature drops and pressure surges. Mineral and synthetic oils used as compressor oils must have a low pour point and chemical stability.
